Milk production by cows and growth rate of stocker calves may
be limited by protein intake. CRYSTALYX® HP-40™ is
a premium supplement containing energy, degradable protein,
bypass protein, macro minerals, trace minerals and vitamins.
It is designed for cattle with a high protein requirement
(lactating/gestating cows, rapidly growing stocker calves
and yearlings, developing breeding heifers, etc.) and for
cattle consuming moderate to low quality forages. HP-40™
provides crude protein in forms easily utilized by rumen microorganisms
(rumen degradable protein) and in a form directly utilized
by the animal (bypass protein). Therefore, the protein benefit
from HP-40™ is two-fold; 1) stimulation of fiber digesting
rumen microorganisms and a resulting increase in forage utilization,
and 2) additional bypass protein. Supplemental bypass protein
can help express the lean growth potential of rapidly growing
calves and yearlings. HP-40™ is a combination of protein
sources intended to optimize amino acid balance and protein
utilization.
