We talk a lot about products on this blog, but sometimes we need to remember that CRSTYALYX^® is about more than just providing great supplements. We’re a company comprised of people who care about our customers, about your cattle and about the future.

As you may know, the first full week of October was National 4-H week. 4-H is an organization that is near and dear to my heart; having been a member in Iowa. I could list everything I learned while in 4-H, but I won’t. Let’s just leave it at a long list of really good stuff. The point I do want to make about 4-H is that it’s shaping the future of agriculture, right along with the FFA. Both organizations are teaming with young minds, eager to learn and leave their mark on agriculture and carry on the legacy of their parents and grandparents.

How do supplements play into this equation? With the Earn to Learn™ program. Earn to Learn™ is a fundraising program ideal for youth groups, of any design, in rural livestock communities. Youth groups partner with the local CRYSTALYX^® dealer to sell $40/ton discount cards for $20 each. That’s it! No writing a check to a 3^rd party for goods sold, all money collected stays with the youth group. No return trips required to deliver goods, weeks later.

The basics of the program are simple:

1. Youth groups set a fundraising goal for an educational opportunity.
2. Youth groups work with a local CRYSTALYX^® dealer to plan a strategy for connecting with local livestock producers who would use product discount coupons.
3. A fundraising time line of 4 weeks is established, discount cards are sold and proceeds are collected. All money collected from the sales of the cards stay with the youth group.
4. Livestock producers receive a $40/ton discount on product they are already buying from their local, participating dealership. (That’s a $20 additional bonus above the contribution made to the youth group!)
5. Dealers submit redeemed cards and supporting invoices for reimbursement.

It’s really just that simple. The Earn to Learn™ program is a great way for dealers to partner with and support local youth groups, as well as supporting local producers with discounts on their favorite barrels.
