CRYSTALYX® Sheep-lyx™ Key to Producing High Quality Lambs

Double J Farms and Feeding is a family farming and custom feeding operation that feeds cattle and sheep at multiple locations near Ault, Colorado. The sheep facilities have the capacity to feed over 50,000 head of lambs. The owners of the company, the Hasbrouck family, have been involved in lamb feeding for three generations.
Jeff Hasbrouck manages the Lamb Division and started using CRYSTALYX® Sheep-Lyx™ thanks to the recommendation of cattle producers in the area who had success with the other CRYSTALYX® products. Today, Double J Farms uses only 100% Natural feeding programs for the lambs in their feedlot, and Sheep-Lyx™ fits into this program well. Double J Farms is a member of the Mountain States Lamb COOP, which consists of producers throughout the Western United States. Their goal is to produce the highest quality lamb in the market place.
Since beginning the 100% Natural lamb feeding program and implementing Sheep-Lyx™, Hasbrouck says "lamb performance in average daily gain, cost per pound of gain and death loss is as good or even better than when we were on a more traditional program in the past that implemented the use of antibiotics, vaccines, etcetera. We start nearly all lambs on the Sheep-Lyx™ barrels as they come into the feedlot, especially the smaller lambs, and keep the barrels with them all the way to finish."
Hasbrouck is happy with the way the lambs consume Sheep-Lyx™. "Consumption is consistent. The lambs go right to the barrels when they are put out, and there are always three or four lambs consuming supplement at any given time. This consistent intake results in improvements in performance and lamb quality for Hasbrouk. "Sheep-Lyx™ gives our lambs a competitive advantage in the market place," he says.
