The food discussion: Sharing your beef and dairy cattle production story

This week there are several events focusing on the cattle industry such as The NCBA Convention in Nashville, TN and the Black Hills Stock Show in Rapid City, SD. At each of these events there will be presentations on how to better communicate with the food/beef consumer.

The consumer does still trust the rancher and farmer.  However, most consumers are a generation or more removed from production agriculture and do not know what it takes to produce a hamburger or a milk shake. I purposely did not say how to grow a calf or milk a cow.   Most consumers only think about the "how" after an activist or savvy marketer brings attention to a subject which creates uncertainty and fear.   Telling our story of the how and why we manage animals is and will be increasing important. Bloggers, YouTube posters, and industry groups, are doing a better job of telling the story and not just reacting to the current hot topic.

How can you tell your story if you have limited time and possibly limited digital ability? CRYSTALYX® Brand Supplements offers a few areas where you can share you story with a broader audience. On this website under the Proven Results tab is the Testimonial section.  There you will find Do You Have A Story to Tell section where you can submit a story or product testimonial.   For liability reasons, they are reviewed before being posted.

If you prefer a face to face interaction, visit with a CRYSTALYX® representative at a trade show or contact your local dealer to arrange meeting.

On a recent long drive I listened to the story of an individual who left his urban setting job, bought a hobby farm and opened a restaurant.  He has since written a book.  The Food Discussion is happening and being framed by those participating.  Take advantage of all your opportunities to share your story.
