Feeding Instructions

Practical guidance for optimal herd performance

  1. Placement

    Place containers in areas that achieve desired supplement intake.

  2. Relocation

    Once acceptable intake levels have been achieved, the containers may be moved to underutilized pasture areas to improve grazing distribution and forage utilization.

  3. Accessibility

    A minimum of two (2) containers may be necessary in each lot or pasture to assure proper accessibility.

  4. Quantity

    Feed at the rate of one container for every 3-20 head. Equines will typically consume between 0.25 and 3.0 pounds per head per day.

  5. Monitoring

    Self fed consumption will depend on the size of the animals fed, seasonal weather conditions, as well as quality, source and availability of other feeds.

CAUTION: Equines must be managed so that consumption of this block does not exceed three (3) pounds per head per day. Consumption of selenium should not exceed 3 mg per head daily.
