Neal Kimman has 69 Angus cows and first calf heifers with plans for an 80 cow herd. A key objective for Neal has been a defined, short breeding season. A short breeding and calving season allows Neal to handle the labor demands of having both a beef herd and a crop operations. Also, when calves are very close in age it is easier to select the best heifers for herd replacements. A more consistent and uniform calf crop improves the value of the feeder calves. Neal learned of the product through a feeder meeting conducted by Sunrise Ag Cooperative and Lyle Landowski, their local Hubbard Feeds® representative.
“Since using CRYSTALYX® Breed Up® 20 the calving season has been shorted by 3 weeks.” Neal said, “The year before we had about 20% open cows, a lot more than we wanted. We have the bulls in for 3 cycles and then pull them out. Using Breed Up® 20 this past year there was NO OPEN COWS and only 2 calves were born in the last cycle.”
"CRYSTALYX® Breed Up® 20 helped to attain a shorter breeding season. It's all about getting cows bred."
"I would recommend CRYSTALYX® to other producers."
